INVASION2040 SHORT FIMLS

Invasión 2040 is a sci-fi cinematic universe I’ve been building piece by piece over the past decade.
This post brings together the three short films that form its foundation: a creative and technical journey that mirrors not only the evolution of the story, but also my personal growth as a filmmaker.

From classic post-production workflows to real-time rendering and AI-driven pipelines, each short represents a moment in time — both creatively and technologically.

🔹 GENESYS ONE (2015)
The beginning of it all.
Shot with minimal resources, using standard VFX pipelines — green screen, match-moving, keyframe animation, and heavy compositing in traditional post.
Despite its limitations, Genesys One introduced the core aesthetic of the universe: a war-torn future, experimental aircraft, and the seeds of the mech-technology that would define later entries.

🔹 NICK (2021)
A more intimate, character-driven story.
Visually grounded and emotionally raw, Nick focuses on a girl and a robot protector, set against a desolate landscape.
Technically, this marked a major step forward: improved lighting workflows, more refined animation, and a clearer directorial voice. It was also my first real step into stylized realism and emotionally driven pacing.

🔹 NICK 2040 (2023)
The latest and most technically ambitious short.
Shot in my hometown, Bahía Blanca (Argentina), using a hybrid workflow that combines photogrammetry, motion capture (@noitomocap), character animation with reallusion iClone 8, and voice synthesis via elevenlabs

This short marks the first time I fully integrated UnrealEngine as the primary tool for scene construction, real-time rendering, lighting, and VFX.
Unreal allowed me to craft cinematic sequences with more control and immediacy than ever before, merging artistic direction with cutting-edge technology.

Each of these films has been part of a learning process, technically and creatively.
They’ve toured festivals around the world and helped shape what will become the full-length feature:
Invasión 2040.
